Artist Statement:
Space is the thematic of my work- literally about different levels of embodiment; the body within the universe while pieces of the universe on an elemental level exist within our body. Using duration, I address these ideas- the micro moments that usually go unnoticed and put a focus to them.

Biography:
Chelsea Coon a performance artist based in Boston, USA. Her practice explores the parallels between the cosmic body and the human body and asks questions about beginnings and endings, life and death, internal and external spaces, and the imminence of existence. She has performed at the SUPERNOVA Performance Art Festival (Rosslyn, VA), Tempting Failure (Bristol, UK), PALS: Performance Art Links (Stockholm, Sweden), Teresaki Gallery (Kofu City Yamanashi-shi Japan), Mobius (Cambridge, MA), and the Pozen Center (Boston, MA) among others. She has curated and exhibited work at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Space 1026 in Philadelphia and is the recipient of the Yousuf Karsh Prize, Macomber Scholarship, Montague Travel Grant, Eugene C. Ward Memorial Scholarship and the Rose Hill Performance Art Award.
