From the space to the paces
The Idea of this exhibition started from conversation with Koh Nguang How. This year he has join to the exhibition SUNSHOWER, which hold in two museums in
Tokyo, JAPAN. The exhibition is about Contemporary Art From Southeast Asia 1980s
to Now. Koh Nguang How exhibit his photo archives as Art Archivist, about
Singaporean contemporary Art. He Show photos from exhibition The Space (1992).
There was seven Japanese artist who join the exhibition.
Such as Kiyonori BORI, Hitoshi USHIJIMA, Kiyo KUSANO, Ryuichi SAKAZAKI
four of them were from Fukuoka and Kumamoto. Kanae OHGI (at that time),Sakiko
YMAOKA, were fromTokyo. And NoboruYOSHIDA from Aborad. The reputation of
the exhibition in Japan was not much even less. But in Singapore was bit different.
About this, have to see Koh Nguang How’s archive in the exhibition SUNSHOWER,
in Fukuoka Asia Art Museum(FAAM) touring from Tokyo. at the opening of the
SUNSHOWER exhibition in FAAM, Koh Nguang How visiting and stay for a while, so
as the Artist,we planned to show how we who join the exhibiton THE SPACE 1992 are
doing and making Art now and present. Try to show seven Japanese artist’s now and
some younger Artist who living in Fukuoka and visiting southeast Asia and keep
making Art. And Singapore Art those days and now then…
