Taiwan-Japan Share Meeting -Collectives in Taiwan and Japan Today and Possibilities for Alternatives

HANTOO Art Group, the oldest artist collective in Taiwan's contemporary art scene, will hold its first shared meeting with art space tetra, an alternative space in Fukuoka. The nine members (13 participating artists), who are currently in Japan for the "Taiwan-Japan Contemporary Art Exchange Exhibition" to be held at Artist Cafe Fukuoka starting June 18, will be welcomed by the veteran artists themselves, who have been leading the Taiwanese art scene, who will reflect on the transition of the group and the social conditions surrounding their activities, and share the differences in cultural backgrounds and challenges they are facing. Art space tetra, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, has been run as a joint venture by planners, artists, musicians, designers, and others, and has been watching over Fukuoka's art scene for many years while undergoing many changes in membership. Let's enjoy talking about the many things they have in common, and exchange ideas over a cup of Taiwanese tea.
