《불안한 안온함》 不安なやすらぎ

Artist Yoon, Seunguk confesses the “anxiety” he has long avoided and hidden in the corner of his heart—the warmest, happiest moments. This exhibition, ‘Anxious Tranquility,’ documents the artist's process of accepting this anxiety not as a deficiency to be removed, but as part of his happy everyday life.
What is intriguing in this exhibition is the technique used to recreate “happiness.” The ordinary, everyday family scenes unfolding along the walls are composed of lines that sway ceaselessly, as if undulating. These “swaying lines” are both an expression and a record of the emotions kept hidden within. Rather than disrupting form, the overlapping, undulating lines build layer upon layer, achieving a density of soft colors and serene scenes.
Paradoxically, it is the gathering of these undulating lines that creates the warm colors and tranquil scene. In this way, the artist visually expresses an attempt to accept both anxiety and happiness without separating them.
The scenes the artist depicts show that tranquility and anxiety can coexist, and that this coexistence can make our daily lives shine even more warmly. Through the warmth that shines through the gaps between the layers of overlapping lines within the work, I hope it becomes a time when we can embrace both our warm daily lives and the true feelings that lie within them.
